Why would you have a trainer come to your home? Very good question! There are several reasons for this; If you have a dog/puppy that finds other dogs difficult, this is a very good solution. This way you do not force your dog into a situation where he feels unsafe. Also if he is easily distracted or experiences new situations as exciting. We will of course work on this, but to ensure that you get the best out of it without unpleasant experiences, I find this to be the most pleasant way to work. The owner often gets frustrated when it does not work or the dog is not reachable and that is something that we both do not want. Now I hear you thinking; 'but he just has to get used to everything' or 'he just has to do that'. That is ultimately the goal of course, but the question is how do you get there without taking the risk that you book and pay for a group course and you still notice that it is too much for your dog, so that you do not get the most out of it. Maybe you do not get the right guidance and it only gets worse. The attention must be divided in a group lesson. In your own environment without other stimuli/distractions it often works best. We work in small steps where you add the stimuli at your own pace. You will see that this goes faster.

First aid in raising your puppy, what do I actually mean by that? Raising your dog runs from the moment he arrives at your home until he is an adult at about three years old, depending on size, breed and character. But in fact, you will be busy with this his entire life. He has to learn and discover everything and he needs your help with that. Now this can be quite a challenge or maybe you don't really know how to do this. That is why it is useful to ask for help from someone who knows how to do this best in a way that is not harmful to the dog, the handler and the bond they are building together. There are situations where you don't really know what to do, which is very normal, just like raising a child it can be quite a challenge. It is important to know how it works in your puppy's head. How does he learn? How does he indicate what is okay and what is not? How do you know that he has done too much and that you should take it a bit easier? Or maybe he just doesn't want to be house-trained. You will learn all this in the first aid in raising a dog lesson program. Are you interested in working together at home to build a good bond with your new puppy?
Do you have a teenager at home and do you not understand why he no longer listens, because he did this the best a month ago? Or at least that is how it seems. All kinds of processes are taking place for your teenager, which has made it more difficult in any case. What is very important in this period is that you ensure that he can make the right choices in which you must guide him. Let's be honest, even with teenage children it is very much a search for what is and is not allowed and possible and it is your job as a parent to guide this phase well. But well, you can still kind of talk with children and a dog cannot speak Dutch, so we have to do it in other ways. You will learn that in this lesson package about the teenager.
Is your puppy/dog afraid of other dogs and do you want to work on that? Does your dog lash out? Does he bark when the doorbell rings? Is receiving visitors a problem? Does he have trouble handing over important objects? Or are you struggling with another problem? We can work on this together. Often the behavior that your dog shows is a symptom of an underlying emotion that we will investigate and work on together. If you have a problem that I do not yet have enough knowledge for, I will refer you to a certified behavior therapist. I am still in training as a behavior therapist myself, so I do not yet deal with serious problems. That is why I also offer first aid for problem behavior and a reduced hourly rate.
